The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge is a great way to discover good books to read and to set yourself a personal challenge that keeps you working towards your reading goal.
The Challenge usually officially starts in February each year and finishes usually in late August. Keep a record of the books you are reading (Title, Author, and PRC Code) so that you can enter them on the student PRC website as you read.
There’s displays of PRC books in the library throughout the year. You can also check the Years 7-9plus PRC Booklists on the PRC website or a great way to find books is by searching the student site by genre and year group. You can then search eLibrary to check if our school library has a copy of the book you are interested in reading or you can check our digital library platforms for an ebook version (in Sora or CEDP Wheelers). Your local library is another great resource for finding books to read for the PRC.
Throughout the year, students participating in the Challenge will be invited to share books they have enjoyed. This will help PRC students discover books of interest, as well as being an enjoyable way to interact with our school’s PRC reading community.
Essential information for PRC students is available on this Google Slide.
Happy PRC reading!
